danny in the dark

This is Danny, the camera operator on Re-Uniting The Rubins. We were on location at a lovely house in Essex, but the oriental decor was brought in by the production. To camera left of Danny is a powerful light known as a Daylight 6K, which refers to the colour and power of the lamp – it’s a big one! Danny himself is sitting on a dolly on tracks, looking behind him from the point of view of his usual operating position – that’s the film magazine of the camera to the right.

With the exception of a -2/3 stop exposure compensation in Capture NX2, this is straight out of the camera. Absolutely no Photoshop besides resizing and sharpening for the web.
