This is inside the only real set on Collectables. Amrita has been found in the carpet and is sat in the chair facing camera – and her new owner.
The only Photoshop here was for a curve to lighten some shadows, after I reduced the exposure in Capture NX2 to bring detail back into her face. The B&W was done in-camera using a Monotone Picture Control setting I tweaked for lots of contrast and no Vignette Control. It’s quite handy for impromptu stuff you’re not going to be processing later, like holiday snaps, but coming back home and trying a custom B&W curve on the colour version it’s easy to see where you’re still losing a lot of control over how it turns out.
Still, it does save time for stuff you don’t want to be too precious about, and if you shoot it RAW you can always change your mind later.
Thanks for stopping by.
