Something I’ve been meaning to do for ages is start collecting ‘the numbers’ from Lost. Plucked as they were from relative obscurity as ‘mere’ digits (well, except for one of them…), they’ve since entered the cultural language in all sorts of ways. ABC has hidden them in the video ident they use before films (they’re rendered as red digital timecode on the clapperboard at the start) and they’re referenced in video games, films, comics and TV shows, sometimes directly but usually much more craftily than that.
Well I was going through the archives trying to get myself back into the habit, and found a few door numbers I’d taken photos of months ago, and lo and behold, the first two were 4 and 8. I can’t remember if that was by design or just fluke, but it’s got me fired up to finish the set.
This was processed with a B&W set to Normal 10% for a hint of desaturation, another two identical B&Ws both set to Overlay 60%, a Curve for cross-processing, with a couple of tweaks to suit the image, and a hand-drawn vignette.
Thanks for stopping by!
