Another from the P&O cruise liner, Arcadia. I got a couple of shots of this, including some landscape ones, but I preferred the way the clouds played out in the vertical one.

It’s also possible I’ve overdone the processing here – what do you think? Back in the day I used to enjoy this look – it’s basically a curves layer, then click on the black point eye dropper and select the darkest bit of blue sky, and it turns the clouds that tobacco colour. There’s so masking of the sky itself so it doesn’t go too dark.

I should also add that all the really obvious halos around the bottom of the image, between the sky and the signage, were there in the original. I spent a really long time blending that area and could never fix the halos that look like a lousy masking job. Trust me – they are there in the original, annoyingly.

In other news, it seems various aspects of my site are not working properly in Safari 4. I don’t know if this is because Safari has bugs, or if it’s so ‘compliant’ that some Javascript hacks are breaking in the browser. Unfortunately I’m no Javascript programmer so if it’s in the JS I’m going to have to take it out rather than fix it. And that’s if I can work out what it is that’s breaking!

At the moment in Safari 4 the site’s CSS doesn’t load if you use the URL http://myglasseye.net (without the www) and also the Lightbox-style code I’ve got on this comments box doesn’t work. If you have any ideas, do give me a shout!
