Here’s another from the P&O cruise liner, Arcadia. This was towards the end of the day. We’d started indoors in one of the cabins but all the subsequent scenes were out on deck. The shoot had a very limited window to complete the scenes it needed as the ship was in dock from 7am until 4:30pm but because we were ‘airside’ whereby we’d handed over our passports and were technically not in Britain at that point, we had to be completely off-board and checked back into the country by 4pm.
Meanwhile, the outgoing passengers were disembarking, the cabins and ship facilities were being cleaned and restocked and new passengers were coming on board, so we had quite an audience of unofficial extras!
I wasn’t really sure what to do with this shot and it still feels a little odd to me, tone-wise. I’m posting it because I took the effort to make it so I feel I ought to share it. I don’t think I should only ever post ‘perfection’ as the idea it’s a sort of visual diary. What do you think?
