This is a shot from the day Ryan Haysom shot his short film Fragments. He’s got a trailer to watch on his blog. I grabbed it while they were filming a scene in this corridor when Sean (front) is following the girl and being followed by the shadowy fellow at the back.
As they were heading back to the start position Ryan stopped them to give them a last bit of direction and by complete chance they happened to be perfectly aligned in this position – as they were about to turn away again I called to them to stop – I might have actually yelled out “NOBODY MOVE!”, bit melodramatic of me.
I like the fact that the other two characters are out of focus as that’s sort of the point of the film in that we aren’t aware of who they are, especially the man following them all.
Fixed and tweaked colour using a Curve, lifted the foreground character using another masked Curve, lifted the midtones brightness with Levels and added a vignette curve to finish.
